I was feeling sorry for myself for a little while, what with being alone in my apartment, my family all the way accross the country, and people I know and tolerate elsewhere.

Then I thought of the bums out there in the cold. I had an extra blanket I was just going to throw away anyway. I decided to cut it in half and give it to some deserving bums.

One lady was sitting on the sidewalk, rocking back and forth for warmth. An old man was sitting on the street corner, holding an empty 7-11 cup, asking for change. He declined my blanket, and said he was fine. Another man was laying comfortably bundled up by the CVS wall. He said to give my stuff to someone who needs it.

So I did.

I gave away 2 halves of a warm blanket 2 linen blankets, a sweater, and a little bit of candied yam I had baked earlier.

Then I took the last train home.
